This series, "Ghosts of Winter", focuses on colossal mounds of soil swathed in plastic to prevent erosion at construction sites. These images of a simple control measure have been profoundly recontextualized by the sobering reality of plastic's ubiquitous presence. The discovery of microplastics at the summit of Mount Everest served as a stark wake-up call. It transformed my perception of these plastic-covered hills and valleys – they are no longer simply temporary constructions but a disturbing premonition of a future shaped by climate change, in which glacial ice recedes, leaving behind a bleak landscape of plastic. This unsettling vision of our potential future fuels my continued exploration of this critical environmental issue.
